Art Galleries

Rockland is called the “Art Capital of Maine” for good reason; there are over 20 art galleries. Adding to the lively art scene, the first Friday of each month from June through September is an “art walk” down Main Street with open galleries, refreshments, and live music.

In the summer, artists attending the many workshops in and around Rockland often stay at the Granite Inn, and we have even hosted workshops. In addition to displaying art, the Farnsworth Museum and the Center for Maine Contemporary Art are also dedicated to art education.
